I was asked to create a blog for my graduate class.  The assignment required me to research a total of four blogs that I could support me in the classroom.  I hope that you find that these blogs and site will be able to support you as well.

Learning and Teaching Preschoolers by Tami
This site offered ideas as it relates to the classroom arrangement and activities in the classroom.  What I noticed by reviewing this site is that she used different names for some of her centers.  Instead of calling the block area by that name she called it a construction zone.  I believe that a construction zone emphasized building and creating structures.  The art center she call creative art.  That gave it a much more interesting take, in my opinion.  She also talked about including activities that require children to explore, investigate, and discuss concepts.  This site believed in offering a welcoming and creative environment for children and I believe that Tami does, just that.

Play to Learn Preschool by Jamie White MED
I thought that this site was wonderful.  I'm currently in the process of looking for some of the resources that I found on her site, like the feet on the floor.  She gave a lot of visuals on her site of how her classroom was arranged.  She emphasized creating the classroom structure with the children in mind.  Personal space was another thing that is important and therefore labeling the carpet with the children's names helps them with organization.  I also think that job charts are good to have in a classroom.  It gives the children a sense of ownership with the classroom.

Chalk Talk by Mrs. Larremore MED
This site offered many suggestions for the classroom teacher.  There many management tips on how to be organized and store teaching materials.  Also, many ideas about activities.  There were calendar activities, literacy activities, and additional blog links with resources.  When I get a chance to teach Kindergarten I want to use her idea that she has about, "Have you filled my bucket".  It gives the children a visual and reinforces positive behavior.

The Virtual Vine by Cindy MED
This is a site that I have been using for years to look up ideas.  The visual of a classroom I always find is a nice thing.  I am a visual learning myself and by having a virtual classroom tour on her site helps a lot.  She offered a lot of nice teaching tips to help teachers with organization and structure in the classroom.  There were also many stations located throughout the room.  This site helps with ideas when it comes to the over all structure and set up of a classroom.
